A Constitutive Stress?Strain Law for Metals with Sigmoidal Curves

چکیده
A formulation is proposed for true stress–true strain relationships in the plastic regime that exhibit sigmoidal shapes, such as those of certain metastable austenitic stainless steels (MASS). It contains two terms, broadly accounting contributions to hardening from conventional plasticity and mechanical stimulation martensite formation. a continuous function, designed cover range zero up several tens percent. shown it suitable capture curve shapes this type—experimental data tensile testing MASS alloy over temperature, with good fidelity. The incorporates six independent parameters, although there may be scope limiting values they can have, facilitating convergence operations. Information presented about how obtained. equation thus expected use finite element method (FEM) models simulation deformation various scenarios, including indentation. Future work will involve exploration details this.

A new constitutive model for HCP metals
This paper develops a new constitutive model for HCP metals subjected to high strain, high strain rate and high temperature based on the theory of thermally activated dislocation motion in crystal materials. The constitutive parameters of the material are determined by a new efficient method composed of a global genetic algorithm and a local penalty-function algorithm, which guarantees that the...
متن کاملDo Sigmoidal Acquisition Curves Indicate Conformity?
The potential for behaviours to spread via cultural transmission has profound implications for our understanding of social dynamics and evolution. Several studies have provided empirical evidence that local traditions can be maintained in animal populations via conformist learning (i.e. copying the majority). A conformist bias can be characterized by a sigmoidal relationship between a behavior’...
متن کاملCan telomere shortening explain sigmoidal growth curves?
A general branching process model is proposed to describe the shortening of telomeres in eukaryotic chromosomes. The model is flexible and incorporates many special cases to be found in the literature. In particular, we show how telomere shortening can give rise to sigmoidal growth curves, an idea first expressed by Portugal et al. [A computational model for telomere-dependent cell-replicative ...

In this paper, an elastoplastic constitutive model is presented for predicting sandy soil behavior under monotonic and cyclic loadings. The model is based on the CJS3 model that takes into account deviatoric and isotropic mechanisms of plasticity. The flow rule in deviatoric mechanism is non-associated and a kinematic hardening law controls the evolution of the
